Keratin Complex Smoothing Hair Treatment

We had a technical expert from Keratin Complex attend our salon to train us in the Keratin Complex Smoothing System. This System is a superior quality Brazilian straightening treatment which contains no formaldehyde or any other aldehydes.

Redken Connects

Held at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

This was an interactive learning show where we could be inspired by from some of the top names in hairdressing such as Lee Stafford Andrew Barton, Chris Moody, AJ Blackadder, Adam Brown and many more.

Great Lengths Multi sonic training

Held at The Bayswater hotel in London.

This exciting course revealed breakthrough technology from Great Lengths for their new multisonic hair extensions system.

We are one of the first salons in the country to take on the new multisonic system and be trained in this new technology which applies hair extensions quickly with even smaller, flatter less detectable bonds.

Live at the Brixton Academy

This is an electrifying evening of hair, fashion & music with top artistic hair shows featuring the latest runway trends.

Including shows from Andrew Barton, Leo Bancroft and the live final of 2011 Redken NYC Hair Awards.

The Principles of Dressing Hair

Held at the L’Oreal Professional training academy in Hammersmith with renowned Redken Artists Sue Harrison and Michael Pope.

This taught us inspiring ideas for long hair and quick versatile techniques used in session styling suitable for salon work.

This is also where we bumped into the renowned James Brown (hairdresser to Kate Moss) whilst he was filming for TV at the L'Oreal Academy

Great Lengths Awards

We attended the prestigious Great Lengths annual awards ceremony at the glitzy Mayfair Hotel in Central London.

We were delighted to be one of three top salons nominated in the final for 'Salon of the Year'.

Willow Hair Competitions

At Willow we believe in thorough ongoing training. With hairdressing being in an ever growing, fast moving fashion industry we think ongoing training is imperative. We endeavor to partake in as many of the exciting courses the industry has to offer. We are very proud of the opportunities we take to update our skills and inspire our creativity. Great Lengths 'Tomorrows Look Work show

This seminar revealed all the new great lengths techniques and looks to keep us updated.
 

Tuesday 17th February
My New Hair - with Trevor Sorbie

Trevor Sorbie himself tought us how to choose, fit and cut wigs for clients who suffer with medical hair loss due to chemotherapy or alopecia.

Trevor personally supervised us whilst he trained us how to cut wigs. We also had in-depth training from trained nurses to help us understand the issues that arise with these unfortunate illness'

This course was specifically designed to educate hairdressers on not only how to uniquely customize a wig for an individual but also how to deal sympathetically with these sensitive issues.

An Evening of Colour at the L'Oreal Academy

This was a unique opportunity for us to see talented and inspiring industry known and respected colour technicians in one room.
Dedicated to colour they shared their creativity and specialist skills.
This was an inspiring evening for us as colour technicians, revealing all the latest techniques for us to bring back to the salon.

Salon Smart Live

A two day comprehensive business course inspired by a full programme of business advice, inspirational speakers and Q&A sessions with leading business experts including Cory Couts, vice-president of global business development for KMS California, customer care guru Julie Eldrett and legal specialists Julian Sampson of Wright & Wright solicitors.

There was also a moving presentation from Trevor Sorbie on his My New Hair programme to help cut and customise wigs for cancer and alopecia clients.

An inspiring onstage seminar and catwalk show presented by the legendary Beverly C, an inspirational workshop, where session stylist Neil Moodie jetted in from New York to give a fascinating insight into the goings-on behind the covers of top fashion magazines like Vogue and Wonderland.
The day finished off with a lively and engaging Brainstorm session where a panel of experts including communications consultant Harriet Evans, financial and management guru Jeremy Orriss and celebrity hairdresser Beverly C solved delegates' business dilemmas live onstage.

This course left us brimming with exciting new ideas that we could easily introduce into the salon.

An Evening with Andrew Barton

An amazing evening with a chance for us to get up close and personal with Andrew Barton himself.

On this particular evening Andrew and his art team shared their latest cutting and colouring collection. Using very inspiring, easy to apply techniques which could be easily adapted to commercial looks.

Course's covering the more in-depth rules of colour change and creative colour, enabling us to achieve the ultimate in all aspects of hair colour, technically and creatively.

An evening to demonstrate the looks from Beverly's summer collection, 5 different looks from high street to avant garde. Hosted and demonstrated by Beverly C herself, giving us a step by step guide and secret top technique tips live on stage.

A day at the L'Oreal Academy with Zoe Irwin.
This was a great opportunity for us to get first hand experience from Zoe in small class of only eight people.
Zoe was able to give us one to one training with incredible attention to detail.
